Nurse Coordinator/ Manager - Carlow/ Wicklow

This independently owned facility on the Carlow/ Wicklow border caters for the elderly with a top of the range specially built Care Unit. This Care Unit is currently at 14 bed capacity, and is being extended to a 24 bed facility with 2 operating Nurses Stations effective from later this year.

They are seeking a Nurse Coordinator/ Manager to lead their growing team of Staff Nurses and Healthcare Assistants.

The ideal person for this job will:

• Be a fully qualified RGN with current ABA registration
• Have recent Clinical Nursing experience
• Be working as a Senior Staff Nurse and looking to take on a leadership role.
• Have some Staff management experience
• Have an astute awareness of what is required of all staff on a Care Unit
• An interest or an add on qualification on Dementia Care would be advantageous

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of Nurses and Healthcare Assistants and act as a mentor to less experienced staff
• Coordinate all Nursing duties to the correct Nursing Guidelines
• Maintain a respectful environment for clients within the Care Unit
• Assessment of Staff Training or Continuous Professional Development as and when required
• Assessment of Staff duties, rosters and care plans
• Ensure Nursing Guidelines are adhered to in accordance to both the facility and the clients specified Care Plan
• Coordinate GP, Physiotherapy and additional clinical visits to site
• Full responsibility and control of Drug and Medication cabinets and maintain full reports of activity on a daily basis
• Regular Nursing duties

Working Hours - Office Working hours 9-5
