Boots is at the top in the UK! It has emerged that Boots has pipped Marks & Spencer at the post as the most “reputable company”.
Following a public survey of 140 UK companies reputations, participants were asked to rate companies on their levels of trust, admiration and esteem.
And Boots came out top!
The pharmaceutical industry is reported to be the fifth most reputable and respected industry in the UK while manufacturing, consumer product, retail and services preceeded.
Pharmacy Applications drop
Pharmacy applications fall by over 25% this year.
Although a growing number of school leavers are choosing Science careers, Pharmacy has taken a hit.
According to the CAO, there are 2 students racing for every 1 college place next Autumn.
The CAO have only received 280 applications for the 3 Pharmacy schools in comparison to 380 the same time last year.
It is thought this significant drop in Pharmacy applications is linked to the HSE disputes with the Pharmacists which occurred throughout 2009.
These disputes resulted in a large decrease of Pharmacist salaries and margins within Pharmacies.
