Send your CV in Word format only

Use Word for your CV

Use Word for your CV

For job seekers out there currently in the market, please remember to use only a Word.doc version of your CV to send to Recruitment Agencies.

Word is the most commonly used format and can be edited, changed and read easily.

Client Companies also do not like CV’s to be submitted in any other format than Word.

Other formats eg JPeg or PDF do not look as well, do not copy or edit as well and can take up alot of time to translate back in to Word.

If it’s not in Word format, your CV will not get the full attention it should as it will go down the priority list over someone else’s who’s CV is in Word and is good to go.

If you are looking for a job - only send your CV in a Word.doc format so it will get immediate attention and be more appealing to a Client Company

Read the requirements for a job before applying

Meet the criteria before applying for a job

Meet the criteria before applying for a job

It is always worth reading the essential requirements for a job before applying.

All too often, CV’s are being sent to us by people totally unsuitable for the jobs they are applying for.

There are a number of reasons for this -

  1. Careless
  2. Rushed
  3. Poor attention to detail
  4. Desperate

This creates a bad impression from the outset which is not what you want to give the Recruiter who will be helping you to find your next job.

It also wastes alot of valuable time when a Recruiter gets hit with 20 unsuitable and careless CV submissions before he/she can get to the ones that are suitable.

This may also be the reason why job seekers can feel they are being ignored or not responded to as even the most fantastic Recruiter in the world - all of whom work for JBM!, will eventually lose patience with what are commonly knows as the ‘time wasters’

Applying for a job is a process which requires care, attention and time - never fall in to the trap of just sending your CV out to a multitude of jobs and sites as this will be spotted very quickly as it starts turning up at the same place more than once and will instantly give a bad impression of you

Please always ensure you meet the criteria on the job advert before applying and if you dont - dont apply

Wound Care Sales Recruitment

Monday, January 4th, 2010

A very happy new year to you all.  So, what will 2010 hold for us all in healthcare recruitment?  We in your favorite Medical Recruitment Agency are feeling optimistic.  Wound Care Sales positions are coming out of our ears at the moment.

It is not just wound care jobs though.  It seems that with a new year and new budgets things are looking up on the jobs front.  We had new jobs coming in on Christmas eve! There have been more since.

If you are an experienced medical sales rep and are living in Dublin or the West, then ask us about the wound care positions.

With recovery from the recession penciled in for mid way through the year, those of us who work around medical and science areas have good reason to be optimistic.  Healthcare Recruitment never suffered in the same way as some other areas, and there are jobs about, with more on the way.

Wishing you all an exciting and happy 2010!

The shape of things to come

Medical Device Diversity- Irelands New Growth IndustryThe shape of things to come for 2010 may be higher unemployment and lower economic activity for some sectors of the economy. But as far as medical and science sectors are concerned, we are still seeing considerable opportunities for growth; in particular the medical devices manufacturing sector which has recently seen major investment in R&D with such diverse companies as Teleflex, Baxter Healthcare, KCI Medical and Merit Medical.

All have seen further expansion this year and have increased growth in the development of their production and manufacturing facilities and directed extensive FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) in new product developments which will see Ireland placed at the fore front of global Medical Device R&D.

So what opportunities do exist for  those looking to retrain or re-skill? Considerable and varied opportunities exist for those with Research and Product Development, Regulatory, Quality,  Technical and supporting skills in Sales and customer support-particularly those candidates with European and Asian language skills.

Jackie Brown is keen to talk with those seeking career moves or those with existing medical device manufacturing industry experience as we move into another year of anticpated high growth in recruitment within the medical and life science industries.

In the mean time, to all those looking for a career move or seeking new opportunities we wish you a Happy and prosperous New Year in 2010.

Economic Meltdown

Working together for the future

Working together for the future

Economic Meltdown appears to have been averted in the 2010 Budget but this is small consolation for those of us in the private and public sector who now are bearing the brunt of the severest budget in living memory. The worldwide economic community appear to be full of praise but the reality is we, the Irish Nation will have to live with reduced incomes, strikes and reduced living standards for at least the next three years

The only positive aspect of all this is, that good or bad news what ever your perspective we at least now have direction and from here action can be taken. From an oft heard maxim, fear causes paralysis, action cures fear.

Perhaps at this point we may see a move towards job creation as the economic fire fighting that has so long been a feature of the governments performance in the past two years  may soon move into positive decisive action that will encourage investment and bring us back to some semblance of order and perhaps to a new economy that leaves behind the pursuit of property as an end in itself and back towards an econmy that relies on Irish knowledge, skills and talents that brought prosperity in the recent past.

But  perhaps this time we will remember what and who brought us today to the situation we find ourselves in as a nation and  perhaps next time round we will be weary of sweet promises of today that bring a bitter tomorrow from those we previously regarded as the pillars of our nation

Follow the money!

Medical Devices Manufacturing R&D continues to seek high caliber candidates

Medical Devices Manufacturing R&D continues to seek high caliber candidates

Follow the money! A maxim often quoted in recruitment when looking for the areas of activity where recruitment is taking place. At present it certainly appears that the medical device manufacturing industry is ploughing ahead in new Research and Investment Projects across Ireland.

Where as the beleagured construction industry is rapidly faling into decline and infrastructure is imminently due for winddown, medical devices continues to expand and grow as a major contributor to the Irish economy.

In terms of world class R&D competition, Ireland is in the top ten leagues of countries with a major R&D presence usually a prime indicator of strategic importance of where  multinational medical device manufacturers see value and where they tend to carry out serial reinvestment at multiple sites and in new products.

Boston Scientific and Abbotts  are just two examples that spring to mind and some of the most significant investors in terms of R&D and employment in Ireland Inc.

Recruiting in this area requires an active involvement in the industry and an understanding of the requirements of client companies operating in this sector. The demand for high caliber candidates continues to support a range of medical device manufacturing clients and sees an increasing continuing future demand for high end skills and services for R&D Managers, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing and Quality professionals amongst others. Long may it continue.
